As we celebrate Earth Day, we shine a light on a Graybar employee who goes above and beyond to help customers achieve their sustainability goals.
Meet Rick Cole, a Lighting Business Development Manager for Graybar Denver.
With 25 years of experience at Graybar, Rick's all about driving energy efficiency for a better tomorrow. Thanks to his extensive knowledge of lighting and energy management, Rick helps customers take advantage of new technologies that enhance their facilities, reduce their environmental footprint, and improve their bottom line.
Rick recently worked on the renovation of a commercial building in Boulder that involved replacing 6,000 fluorescent lamps with new LED technology. Thanks to Rick, the company achieved a 54% energy reduction and received a $24,000 rebate check for making the switch to LED.
"I always encourage customers to use new technology such as daylight harvesting, vacancy lighting and dimming," said Rick. "Sustainable business is usually smart business, and most lighting upgrades pay for themselves in just a few years."
In addition to helping his customers discover the right lighting solution, Rick has a passion for keeping Graybar's business healthy and growing.
"I take great pride in mentoring the next generation of employees and making sure the company's future is bright. It's about sustaining our values and our employee-ownership culture for years to come." Rick's long-term commitment to both the planet and our business exemplifies what it means to be a Graybar employee.
